Charlie Kay graduated from Leicester University with an Honours degree in Drama and Psychology of Human Behaviour. He has been passionate about Drama within Education, ever since being involved in the formation of the Devon Youth Theatre 34 years ago, when he was 15.
Charlie has been delivering Drama and Creative Arts to children and young people for over 20 years and has always looked at what might be holding children back from being their ‘best selves’; believing Drama to be an excellent way to enthuse young people to be courageous learners.
In 2007 Bigfoot Arts Education (South West) was established and they have been priding themselves on the high quality, innovative and exciting projects and programmes they deliver with outstanding feedback in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. What makes the company unique is the fact that it prioritises getting to know schools individually, ensuring their projects are tailor made in line with desired outcomes, and more importantly, the ethos of each individual school in mind.
Bigfoot South West sees children engaged and enthused by their learning every single day. They can offer educational experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Charlie is always happy to have a chat, either in your school or by phone, with no obligation and is willing to adapt costs to fit in with your schools’ budget.
Popular Bigfoot programmes in the South West include:
- Creative residencies
- Mantle of The Expert (for planned absences, topic support and CPD)
- PSHE (secondary and primary)
- Literacy enrichment
- Summer Schools (particularly those focusing on the Transition from year 6 to 7)
