Introduction to WFA from our Lead Educator Adrian Benn
Set Up A WFA Peer Mentoring Programme and Empower Children to Deliver Friendship Education Across Your School!
This is a pivotal moment for schools. Never before has it been more important to recognise the value of friendship education and the profound role it plays in every child’s personal development, by embracing the World Friendship Ambassador (WFA) programme.
The WFA is an affordable and easy-to-use online video learning platform. It is designed to inspire pupil mentors from your school to courageously champion kindness, equity, and belonging with their peers. With just a little light-touch support from teachers, the WFA programme empowers KS2 pupils to lead the way by talking about the things that really matter to them during exciting training sessions and in class workshops.
We pride ourselves on delivering engaging video content that truly connects with our learners and fits flexibly into your school year. At the heart of WFA is the dynamic and incredibly talented Adrian Benn; someone who, in our opinion, is renowned as being one of the UK’s leading arts educators. Through three specially designed modules, Adrian guides WFA mentors to explore Positive Communication, Healthy Relationships, and Feeling Good themes in a fun, creative and inclusive workshop-style format.
The creative learning experts at Bigfoot Arts Education have ensured that the modules link perfectly to your school’s RSE and PSHE curriculum. This helps drive your curriculum goals, propel oracy objectives, whilst also providing creative enrichment for all learners to develop essential life skills.
By joining WFA, your school is making a clear statement: that the voice of the child matters! You are giving pupils the chance to become proud leaders, effective communicators, and empathetic changemakers, creating a legacy of friendship and belonging that will continue to thrive in your school and impact the wider community.
The WFA operates through an annual membership scheme, tiered to the size of your school, ensuring affordability and sustainability. Signing up takes just one minute, and you get instant access to the WFA portal!
The portal has everything you need to navigate a successful programme, with simplicity at its core! We handhold you through every step, which in turn provides the freedom for your WFA mentors to take flight and have lots of fun along the way!
At the end of your first year, as WFA mentors prepare to successfully move on to Secondary school, we welcome in the new WFA mentors and teacher leads who will inspire their peers as the journey continues!
You can sign up and choose to pay using a card or by a pro-forma invoice. Whichever option you choose, you’ll gain immediate access to all resources.
There is no timeframe in which to complete the WFA programme, it is designed to fit around your schools busy schedule and can even take place after school if you wish.
Perhaps build WFA into PSHE lessons, Rights Respecting Schools sessions, or school council activities – The choice is yours!

His contributions are countless, but most notably, he has played a pivotal role in shaping some of our most impactful programmes in areas such as Anti-Racism, Knife Crime Prevention, Black British History & teacher training.
Adrian has a remarkable gift for connecting with children, inspiring them to express themselves with confidence and creativity. His ability to unlock potential and build self-belief is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s no surprise that he’s cherished by thousands of children and teachers across the country. We couldn’t think of anyone better to lead our WFA programme.

The WFA currently consists of three modules, with more planned for 2026/7. Each module includes a training video, delivered by Adrian Benn, for both teachers and mentors to be able to successfully launch the sessions, along with downloadable workshop plans and printable resources.
There is no particular order in which to complete the modules, nor any timescale in which to deliver them. WFA is all about working around your schedules.
Check out the modules below for more in-depth information.
The Feeling Good learning module is designed to help pupils develop a clear understanding of what wellbeing means and why it’s essential to care for our mental health. Through creative and reflective activities, pupils will explore a range of strategies that support positive mental health and promote emotional resilience. They will also be encouraged to recognise and celebrate their unique strengths, skills and achievements, fostering a strong sense of self-worth and confidence.
By taking part in this module, pupils will learn how to express and manage their feelings, understand the importance of respect in relationships, and feel empowered to seek support when needed. They’ll gain tools to help themselves and others feel good, reinforcing the value of kindness, empathy and self-respect. Overall, the module aims to build self-awareness and equip pupils with practical strategies to support their own wellbeing and contribute to a caring, supportive community.
The Healthy Relationships module is designed to help pupils understand the value of friendships and what makes a relationship positive, respectful, and supportive. Pupils will explore how friendships are formed and maintained, identify the qualities of a good friend, and consider how to handle changes and challenges in their relationships. The module also encourages reflection on how healthy friendships contribute to overall wellbeing and emotional resilience.
Through practical strategies and roleplay, pupils will learn how to deal with conflict, manage hurtful behaviour, and have honest, respectful conversations. They will build confidence in recognising the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships and know where to seek support if things go wrong. By the end of the module, pupils will feel empowered to form strong, respectful relationships and understand the positive impact their own actions can have on others.
The Positive Communication module equips pupils with the skills to communicate confidently, respectfully and effectively with others. By exploring what respect truly means, pupils will reflect on the importance of celebrating each other’s differences and understanding how people may respond differently in various situations. The module encourages pupils to consider how active listening, assertiveness, and empathy are key to building healthy, respectful relationships.
Throughout the module, pupils will explore how to manage friendships, set boundaries, and resolve conflict through positive communication. They will learn how to navigate difficult conversations, recognise the signs of unhealthy relationships, and identify trusted adults who can offer support. By practising real-life communication strategies, pupils will build confidence in expressing themselves, supporting peers, and addressing unkind behaviour, ultimately fostering a kinder, more inclusive school environment.
