How to look after our wellbeing
The Feeling Good learning module is designed to help pupils develop a clear understanding of what wellbeing means and why it’s essential to care for our mental health. Through creative and reflective activities, pupils will explore a range of strategies that support positive mental health and promote emotional resilience. They will also be encouraged to recognise and celebrate their unique strengths, skills and achievements, fostering a strong sense of self-worth and confidence.
By taking part in this module, pupils will learn how to express and manage their feelings, understand the importance of respect in relationships, and feel empowered to seek support when needed. They’ll gain tools to help themselves and others feel good, reinforcing the value of kindness, empathy and self-respect. Overall, the module aims to build self-awareness and equip pupils with practical strategies to support their own wellbeing and contribute to a caring, supportive community.
How to be a good friend
The Healthy Relationships module is designed to help pupils understand the value of friendships and what makes a relationship positive, respectful, and supportive. Pupils will explore how friendships are formed and maintained, identify the qualities of a good friend, and consider how to handle changes and challenges in their relationships. The module also encourages reflection on how healthy friendships contribute to overall wellbeing and emotional resilience.
Through practical strategies and roleplay, pupils will learn how to deal with conflict, manage hurtful behaviour, and have honest, respectful conversations. They will build confidence in recognising the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships and know where to seek support if things go wrong. By the end of the module, pupils will feel empowered to form strong, respectful relationships and understand the positive impact their own actions can have on others.
How to disagree respectfully
The Positive Communication module equips pupils with the skills to communicate confidently, respectfully and effectively with others. By exploring what respect truly means, pupils will reflect on the importance of celebrating each other’s differences and understanding how people may respond differently in various situations. The module encourages pupils to consider how active listening, assertiveness, and empathy are key to building healthy, respectful relationships.
Throughout the module, pupils will explore how to manage friendships, set boundaries, and resolve conflict through positive communication. They will learn how to navigate difficult conversations, recognise the signs of unhealthy relationships, and identify trusted adults who can offer support. By practising real-life communication strategies, pupils will build confidence in expressing themselves, supporting peers, and addressing unkind behaviour, ultimately fostering a kinder, more inclusive school environment.
How to have difficult conversations
The Trusted Grownups module empowers pupils to understand the importance of asking for help and identifying who they can turn to when they have worries or need support. Pupils will explore the role of trusted adults in helping to keep them safe and well, while learning to recognise the qualities that make someone trustworthy, supportive and approachable.
Through guided discussions and activities, pupils will build confidence in expressing their feelings and learn practical strategies for having difficult conversations with both peers and grownups. The module places a strong focus on positive communication, helping pupils understand when and how to seek help, and reinforcing the message that they don’t have to face challenges alone. By the end of the module, pupils will feel more secure in knowing who to talk to and how to ask for support when they need it.
