Black History Month 2018

We are now preparing for Black History Month 2018. Our full programme of activities has now been published and can be viewed here

As Black History Month enters it’s 31st year of celebrations in the UK, Bigfoot are excited to help schools celebrate this annual occasion with workshops and assemblies which help children to learn about  African and Caribbean culture, traditions and achievements. We love to celebrate with our Bigfoot schools and find that both students and teachers enjoy celebrating with us too!

With the recent news about the Windrush Generation, it is even more important than ever for young people to be aware and understand who the Windrush Generation are and the multicultural Britain that we live in today. Our Black History Month programmes include passengers stories and their experiences aboard the Empire Windrush which travelled from the Caribbean to Tilbury in 1948.

As well as this we offer an energetic assembly and workshop which brings the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival to life and explores great heroic figures.

Let our brilliant Bigfoot facilitators join you this October as they will bring energy, enthusiasm and entertainment in abundance to your school to celebrate black history! Students will feel informed and inspired with the range of interactive assembly and workshop programmes as well as storytelling experiences we have to offer.

Our facilitators always ensure  Bigfoot schools are left inspired and curious to learn and explore more after their visit.

This year we are also delighted to offer a BRAND NEW programme exploring music of black origin. We are now taking bookings for Black History Month 2018! Contact us here
