It was a Scrumdiddliumptious World Book Day!

Last month our Bigfooters spent not just one day, but a whole week, celebrating the fun, wise, adventurous, colourful and simply incredible world of books! From Shakespeare to Dickens, Dahl to Potter, we were excited and enthralled to see so many of our young people be captivated by the stories and characters of tales both new and old!

We were also thrilled to visit over 12 schools with our all new ‘Character Carousel’ programme. Jumping from the page to delight thousands of children from ages 4 to 12, Willy Wonka, Cat in the Hat and the Gruffalo’s Mouse toured schools and classes to bring some of Britain’s most well known and loved literary characters to life. Hot seating, playing and quizzing alongside our Bigfooters, students were excited to learn more about a range of classic, traditional and modern stories and their authors.

Thank you to ALL schools who took part in our World Book Day celebrations; we had a blast!

We are happy to share some lovely comments from just a few of our even lovelier schools:

‘This made such a big impact and was an amazing experience for all!’ (F Suleman, Deputy Head, Orchard Primary School)

‘Outstanding! This programme well exceeded my expectations; the children loved the character’s visit!’ (Kate Roberts, Deputy Head, Kingsgate Primary’

‘Our children have been truly inspired by the day and have gone on to invent their own mythical creatures, created sets, written stories and made their own costumes; Incredible!’ (N. Wilmowski, Teacher, Chevening St. Botolphs CE Primary)

‘Inspirational! Delivered at the right pace and perfect pitch for our Year 6’s. Such a brilliant workshop; we will definitely be looking into the same again for next year, it really brought the play alive! (Hayley Bowstock, Teacher, St Michaels’ CE Primary School)
