Bigfoot South have had a wonderful term developing a summer tour of The Story Tree Stories in Brighton and Sussex!
The Story Tree by Bigfoot Arts Education South is fun for fertile minds, featuring story-telling, puppetry and a whiff of magic. Join Toni Tickle, and Cyril the Squirrel, under the branches of the magical Story Tree, and grow your own adventure in this unique interactive experience for young audiences.
Created by Emma Edwards and Joe Fleming, we are revamping our popular Early Years programme and performing it across community venues, schools and libraries in Brighton and Sussex. We are working with Makaton expert Astrella Chapman to integrate signs into the stories. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more for your school.
The Story Tree performance dates:
- 1 Aug PM: Chichester Library
- 6 Aug AM: Exeter Street Hall, Brighton
- 8 Aug AM: Worthing Library
All performances funded by Arts Council England.
As we enter the last few weeks of the school year, we wanted to share some news of changes at Bigfoot Arts Education South. After nearly six years of running the business we have had many joyful experiences, from welcoming over 300 children to our free Holiday clubs for children on free school meals, to creating a brand-new theatre show Toy Quest commissioned by Brighton and Hove Libraries to reopen their Toy Library after Covid. We’ve worked with schools from Hastings to Southampton, bringing excellent workshop opportunities and Christmas productions to thousands of children.
We feel that now is the right time to step away from the regional office of Bigfoot here in the South. As Co-Directors we are both moving onto exciting new roles. Bigfoot will continue to operate here in the South, and some of you might already be speaking to Karl and Lauren in Head Office about booking Bigfoot in for the Autumn term and beyond.
Thank you for all the fantastic opportunities in your schools over our tenure at Bigfoot South. It was a real pleasure working with you all.
