Caught Up In The Net

The Big ‘Cyber’ Experience: Caught Up in the Net (KS2)

Bring online safety to life with a fast-paced, in-the-round theatre workshop where a World Friendship Ambassador teams up with Basil, an over-eager sidekick who turns up in a mouse onesie to untangle how children really behave on the internet. Designed for KS2 and perfect for Safer Internet Day or any time of year, this 60-minute whole-cohort experience blends comedy with serious learning as pupils help our World Friendship Ambassadors investigate real-world digital dilemmas raised by your school’s “inbox.”

From the moment the music starts, pupils are on their feet taking part in quick surveys, drama tableaux and a hands-up quiz of “cyber situations,” deciding how to respond to group-chat pile-ons, viral in-jokes and gaming “banter.” Using big screens, bold visuals and student-led problem-solving, we unpack cyberbullying as a group behaviour and practice moving from bystanders to defenders. We talk consent before posting, kindness that counts more than emojis, blocking and reporting when content crosses the line, protecting personal information and when to talk to a trusted adult. A playful debate on online anonymity helps pupils weigh privacy benefits against responsibility, while our “Top Tips For Online Safety” finale turns key messages into memorable actions the whole hall can perform and take back to class.

Pupils leave as newly minted World Friendship Ambassadors, confident they can use technology respectfully, responsibly and safely, and ready to champion positive online culture across your school. The Big ‘Cyber’ Experience is self-contained, tech-light and easily paired with our follow-on classroom workshops for deeper, year-group learning.

Schools can book this interactive theatre based programme at anytime throughout the academic year, and for the week of Safer Internet Day in Early February.
