Bigfoot Wales Spring Term 2024 Round Up

Bigfoot Wales has had an exciting summer term delivering various curriculum enrichment programmes across South, Mid and West Wales.

Our DCF programmes are becoming increasingly popular, and several schools have even secured the Arts Council of Wales ‘Have a Go’ funding. The funding is still open for applications. Please get in touch for more information or press HERE to start your application.

Our DCF programmes include Animation and Filmmaking Workshops, but we’ve also been busy filming the Year 6 Leavers films. These include children sharing their fondest memories, proudest and funniest moments, and we even create a music video of their favourite class song. Several schools show their films as part of the Leavers assemblies and the feedback is always fantastic.

Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School told us:

I cannot thank you enough for the three days you spent with us. The children absolutely loved it and gained so many skills. Some of the year 6s have asked to edit their end of year yearbooks to say they would like to work in film when they grow up!

Thank you for being so flexible and allowing the year 6s to take on a leading role with my class and also for being so patient and nurturing with the less confident children.

We are going to have a watch party with the whole school next week to share the films! Can’t wait to see their faces!

We’ve also been busy delivering creative PPA cover at Bedlinog and Trelewis Primary in Merthyr Tydfil. The children have developed a range of creative skills such as Animation, Filmmaking and Drama as well as developing the Creative Habits of Mind. The feedback from staff has been wonderful and the children love their creative days!

Lastly, we are excited about delivering our Animation and Storytelling Workshops during the summer holidays at The Goods Shed, in partnership with the Llanelli Railway Goods Shed Trust. This will be our first time working at the venue, and we hope to build on this success and provide many more creative workshops during school holidays.
