‘THE NORTH’ AUTUMN 2023 ROUND UP!

As we reflect on our Autumn term at Bigfoot Arts North, we celebrate and mark our busiest period to date! We are proud of the diverse range of delivery we have packed into this term, from Black History Month to Anti-Bullying Week, to Roald Dahl Story Explorer Days and our ever successful Creative Residencies.

A significant achievement this term has been the heightened demand for Black History Month programmes. Our Bigfoot Educator Bene received glowing feedback from Oldfield Brow Primary School in Altrincham, who said:

“Bene was brilliant, an infectious enthusiasm and wonderful rapport with the children and staff in Y5. An engaging and thought-provoking workshop, offering insight into societal awareness to which we learn from, reflect upon, and endeavor to educate children for the future.”

In total, our Black History Month workshops reached 7291 students throughout October in the North – a new record!

Additionally, in September have welcomed Steph Durkin into the role of Company Manager and are preparing for the maternity leave of Rachel Adamson-Brown, our much loved Director! I am sure you will join us in wishing Rachel all the health and happiness in this exciting new chapter for her and her family!

Preparations are now fully underway for our upcoming Christmas shows—the Littlest Elf early years show and Dip and Dab’s Christmas Remix show. We head into December with our North East tours both fully booked!

As gear up for a busy festive period, we express gratitude for the support of local primary schools and the dedication of our team at Bigfoot Arts North. Here’s to a successful term and the promise of continued excellence in the seasons ahead!
