ESTYN HIGHLIGHT FOR BIGFOOT WALES

Bigfoot Wales received praise from Estyn Inspectors during a recent visit to Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School, Caerphilly, where we have been delivering creative PPA sessions to over 450 children in Year 1-Year 6, throughout the Autumn and Spring terms.

Most pupils enjoy learning, generally listen well and participate appropriately in lessons. They enjoy working together, sharing ideas and happily take turns. For example, older pupils work collaboratively to create their own stop-action movies. They are often proud of their work and keen to share their learning with visitors.”

Headteacher, Craig George, contacted Bigfoot and said ‘Thank you. You were a huge part of the success.’

We used drama, animation and filmmaking to cover a wide variety of themes e.g Space, Frozen Planet, The Victorians, Extreme Earth, Oceans, The Romans, Wonderful Wales, Around the World and PSHE. Each week we shared the children’s work on Seesaw so that parents/guardians and staff could witness the fantastic work that the children were producing and see the progression of work each week. We had such fantastic feedback from the children, parents, staff and even inspectors and have now been invited back to cover RSD’s PPA  for the next academic year; we can’t wait to return!

Bigfoot would like to congratulate Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School on a wonderful inspection that praised ‘school leaders and staff for promoting a vision that focuses on striving to ensure that all pupils are happy, healthy, and safe.’
