Bespoke Buzz Days & DCF Film Making

Some schools use us to launch a curriculum topic at the start of term in order to get their children ‘buzzed up’ and ready to learn. Others contact us to book one off days as a special treat to say a big ‘well done- go and have some creative fun.’ The bottom line is, you can book Bespoke Buzz day any time throughout the year…

Bespoke Buzz Days

Bigfoot believes that at the heart of all high quality learning experiences is the opportunity for children to actively engage with people, places and situations. Our ‘Bespoke Buzz’ days encourage students to become part of the story, helping them to understand more intricately about themselves and the world in which they live.

Previous Bespoke Buzz days have included workshops for Maths Week, Holocaust
Memorial Day, Diwali, Refugee Week and Rights Respecting Schools. We have
designed workshops to explore oracy and confidence, team building and creative writing, arranged visits from Father Christmas, a Roman soldier and a Jedi Knight. We have even organised projects at London Zoo and the Tower of London! Anything is possible; just tell us what you want and we will be happy to research, plan and deliver a day especially for your students.

DCF FILM MAKING WORKSHOPS- WALES ONLY

Bigfoot Wales offers a wonderful range of workshops that can support schools with the implementation of the Digital Competence Framework (DCF). Our workshops cover all aspects of the framework, with a particular focus on the ‘producing’ strand. An experienced filmmaker will turn groups of children into young filmmakers as they each have a go at working collaboratively as part of a ‘production team’ and learn a breadth of filmmaking skills. These roles include; Director, DOP, 1st AD, 2nd AD, Sound, Lighting, Clapperboard, Runners etc

Children will learn how to set up a scene/shot, to film using different camera angles, the importance of lighting and sound, and how to use green screen special effects. These activities will give children and staff hands-on experiences, enabling them to learn new skills to enhance their digital productions.

These filmmaking workshops will encourage communication, cooperation, and concentration skills, as well as speaking & listening skills and creative thinking. They will also aim to create a safe space for children to step into, allowing children to express themselves positively, whilst raising confidence, well-being and resilience, no matter their ability or background.
