The South Round Up!

Bigfoot South has had an extremely busy term delivering a wide range of programmes to schools and settings across Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

HAF clubs

We are delighted to be looking forward to Holiday Activity and Food clubs at Brighton and Hove Libraries and Buckingham Park School in Shoreham. Thanks to funding from Brighton and Hove City Council and West Sussex County Council we are able to provide drama activities and a free hot lunch for 640 children on free school meals this summer holiday. We are arranging some visits from special guests and have already booked Theatre Royal Brighton to come and run a workshop.

Bigfoot Storytime

East Sussex Libraries have been wonderful hosts for our Bigfoot Storytime events. Performer Harry Gandy read interactive adventure stories and took families through an improvised adventure of their own! We hope to return to East Sussex Libraries shortly with more creative events.

Think Simple; Act BIG

Our lovely educator Maddie visited schools and a special performance at Jubilee Library in Brighton for Refugee Week with the brilliant Walk with Amal assembly programme. Maddie showed children films about the giant puppet Amal and took them through a creative workshop to better understand the journeys of refugee children.

Work in schools

The summer term has been really varied for us with a combination of special programmes like Worry Wizard and Black History Month being delivered in Eastbourne and Brighton, and some KS1 puppetry workshops at Staplecross School in East Sussex.
