Story Tree Stories: Everything Changes
A joyful transition adventure for Early Years learners
In the heart of the Rainbow Clearing, something magical is happening. The usually calm and content Story Tree, guardian of every tale ever told, has begun to change. His leaves droop, his mood darkens, and the animals of the forest grow worried. With the help of Tara the Story Tickler, Fox, Bird, Spider, and Squirrel, children embark on a beautiful journey exploring how change can feel unsettling but also open doors to wonderful new beginnings.
This enchanting interactive storytelling workshop introduces EYFS children to the theme of transition through movement, sound, imagination, and empathy. As they join the forest friends to uncover why the Story Tree feels sad, little ones are encouraged to express emotions, problem-solve together, and reflect on their own experiences of growing and moving on, perhaps from nursery to “big school.”
Across three magical evenings, the Story Tree shares his very own tales—stories of friendship, discovery, and transformation. Children join in by acting out the adventures, creating shapes, sounds, and feelings that bring each moment to life. Through laughter, curiosity, and creativity, they realise that change isn’t something to fear, it’s the heartbeat of growth, learning, and imagination itself.
By the end of the session, children leave with the Story Tree’s gentle message rooted firmly in their hearts: change helps us grow, reveals new possibilities, and keeps the world spinning with wonder. Each story inspires them to embrace new experiences, make new friends, and find joy in the adventures that lie ahead.
Each session is 45 minutes long for a class of 30 children. We can work with up to 5 classes over a day.
