It’s been a blockbuster summer term at Bigfoot Wales, bursting with creativity, imagination, and plenty of joyful learning along the way!
At Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School (Caerphilly), our PPA workshop sessions have been nothing short of mask-nificent! The children threw themselves into the exciting world of masks and drama, exploring a range of expressive techniques while developing their communication, collaboration, and character-building skills. From stillness and gesture to movement and mime, pupils learned to express complex emotions through non-verbal storytelling—and had an absolute blast doing it! We’ve loved every moment and are thrilled to have been invited back for another year of theatrical adventures!
Across the length and breadth of Wales—from the peaks of North Wales, through the valleys of Mid Wales, down to the coasts of South Wales—our Animation Workshops have been a roaring success! Learners discovered the magic of stop-motion animation, building essential skills in digital literacy, storytelling, sequencing, and teamwork. They became directors, designers, voice actors, and editors, bringing their stories to life one frame at a time. With 100% overwhelmingly positive feedback, we’re proud to continue inspiring young animators across the country.
Meanwhile, our film-making workshops have been rolling out the red carpet for budding young creatives. From scriptwriting and camera work to acting and editing, children developed a wide range of skills in storytelling, media literacy, and performance. A special shoutout to Parc Primary in RCT, where we returned for the 14th year running! The learners were absolute stars—both on screen and behind the scenes—and we had a brilliant time capturing their Year 6 leavers’ film. And yes, we couldn’t resist filming the legendary staff music video once again!
We also had the pleasure of returning to Pantysgallog Primary School in Merthyr Tydfil, for the 6th year running, helping produce their fabulous Year 6 leavers’ film. It was such a fun and creative process—even Max the wellbeing dog got involved with a little cameo moment! You can take a peek behind the scenes here:

Whether it’s creating characters with masks, animating original stories, or producing mini movies from scratch, this summer term has been a celebration of imagination, expression, and confidence-building. It’s been a joy to see learners thrive and shine across all our workshops—and we’re already buzzing with excitement for what’s to come!
