An engaging workshop where the children learn about safety online through games, circle times and conversations with adults and peers… Children were heard discussing safety online during lunch times and at the end of the day with their parents…. Our Bigfooters across the country had a wonderfully busy Safer Internet Day earlier this term, helping children to explore this year’s global theme ‘Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’.
Each year our popular range of inspiring and creative Safer Internet programmes –performances, workshops and even films – broadens, helping to ensure that all children can benefit from our programmes and this important work. This year we were excited to introduce our new Big Experience Caught Up in The Net, which enables whole year groups to work together to explore key online safety and behaviour, in the most enjoyable and creative way!
In all programmes, Bigfoot’s World Friendship Ambassadors support and empower pupils to establish positive and healthy online habits, building their resilience to develop safe and appropriate long term behaviours and relationships in online communities. All programmes explore how to access support and where to go for help, as well how to have difficult conversations when we have worries or concerns. All the programmes celebrate the positives of the online world if we use some key online safety rules, which are explored through a range of brilliantly fun and positive creative experiences!
We have been so thrilled with the feedback we have received from schools in response to our various programmes this year. We really do appreciate teachers and staff taking the time to let us know how their pupils have responded, and it helps us enormously to ensure that all our programmes are as beneficial and impactful as possible.
