This ‘Whole School’ assembly & drama workshop programme is the perfect starting point to introduce to children how they can nurture their mental health and wellbeing. We enable powerful conversations to happen that strengthen children’s emotional literacy & resilience.
The Assembly
Step into the world of The Worry Wizard with this dynamic whole-school assembly led by Sonny, a storyteller, musician, and self-proclaimed “Worry Wizard.” Through fun, interactive activities, pupils discover that everyone has worries and that by talking about them, we realise we are not alone. Using drama, quizzes, freeze-frames, and even a sunflower-growing challenge, children explore what “Wellbeing” means and learn simple, memorable tools to look after it every day. With plenty of laughter, imagination and participation, this uplifting assembly helps pupils see that sharing their feelings is powerful, looking after themselves is essential, and that each of us has the magic inside to become a Worry Wizard too.
The Workshops
Our From Worries to Wellbeing workshop takes the themes introduced in the assembly and dives deeper, giving children the tools to actively look after their own mental and emotional health. Through drama, story, games and group activities, pupils explore the idea that Wellbeing is something that changes from moment to moment and needs daily care, just like a sunflower that needs light and water to grow. Together, they learn that everyone has Worries, that they are not alone, and that sharing feelings with someone they trust can make a real difference.
Across the session, children use movement, role-play and storytelling to explore the Worry Wizard’s Wellbeing-o-meter, discover tools that help balance their emotions, and create powerful images of the ten Wellbeing Shine Qualities. They leave the workshop not only with a stronger understanding of what supports their Wellbeing but also with a personal promise to take action, empowering them to nurture themselves and support one another long after the workshop ends.
Schools can book this essential creative programme all year round, or specifically for Children’s Mental Health Week in February or World Mental Health Day in October.
From Worries to wellbeing comprises of a whole school theatre and storytelling based assembly at the start of the day which is approximately 45 minutes, followed by 1 hour drama workshops with selected class groups of 30 students at at time from KS1 & KS2. We can deliver workshops to more classes if required.
