Pressure Point – Year 5 & 6 Workshop
Peer pressure, positive choices, and staying safe
Pressure Point is Bigfoot’s follow-up to our Powerful Choices assembly & workshop programme, designed for Upper Key Stage 2 pupils who are beginning to face trickier social situations. In a fast-paced, drama-led session, students unpack how groups work, what healthy and unhealthy friendships look and feel like, and how to recognise, resist, and respond to peer pressure with confidence.
Working in a supportive circle, pupils use role-play, hot-seating, improvisation and tableaux to step into realistic scenarios drawn from everyday school life. They practise setting boundaries, spotting red flags, and trying out assertive language, while also exploring empathy, how to look out for friends, start difficult conversations, and ask trusted adults for help. Throughout, we connect feelings to actions so children learn to trust their instincts, manage risk, and make choices that keep themselves and others safe.
By the end of the workshop, pupils have a clear picture of what respectful relationships look like, a toolkit of strategies for handling pressure in the moment, and a plan for where to find support when they need it. Most importantly, they leave feeling heard, prepared, and empowered to make powerful choices—online, in school, and in the wider community.
Schools can book this programme at any time of the year, but it is also popular as a way to address Year 6 transition in Summer Term 2.
Workshops are 1 hour in length with each workshop catering for a single class group of around 30 pupils. We can deliver up to 5 x 1 hour workshops across a school day.
