Film Premiere a Huge Success!

“Thank you so so much for sending these through – They are amazing!!! I am so delighted and I cannot wait to showcase at the film premiere on Friday afternoon. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you” (Sue Marles, headteacher Raglan Primary, Monmouthshire)

WOW! What an unforgettable afternoon we had at the premiere of Military Me: Born to be Brave!
The red carpet was rolled out, a delicious buffet was served, and the room was full of excitement as military children stepped into the spotlight.

Held at Raglan Primary School, this very special screening brought together a packed audience of proud parents, teachers, governors, military families, and key figures from across education and the armed forces community.

Among the honoured guests were representatives from Monmouthshire County Council, including the Lead for Education, and members of SSCE Cymru (Supporting Service Children in Education Wales)—all deeply moved by the honesty, humour, and heart behind the film.

Children from Raglan Primary, Trellech Primary, Kymin View, Overmonnow, and Usk CIW Primary Schoolworked together to create this powerful and personal film. Their voices, stories, and creativity captured the realities of life as a service child—highlighting both the challenges and the resilience they show every day.

The audience was wowed. There was laughter, there was reflection, and—truly—not a dry eye in the house. The emotional impact of the film was undeniable and left everyone in awe of the young people’s courage and honesty.

Here’s just a snippet of the incredible feedback we received from Joanna Wolfe from SSCE Cymru:

“Wow – you really understood the assignment! Your film is absolutely fantastic, and it made a real impact on everyone who had the privilege of attending the premiere on Friday…”
“Your stories have the power to help others feel less alone and to know they too are Military Me: Born to be Brave.”

Jo also shared that SSCE Cymru will be working closely with our team to explore how this film can be shared across Wales—and it may even be shown at The Senedd!!

Our amazing pupil voice team—Charlie, Emilio, Jessica, Ruaridh, Sofia, Viktoriia, Thomas, Billy, Izzy, Harriet, Elspeth, Logan, Lacey-Mae, Eleanor, and Henry—truly shone. From heartfelt interviews to funny moments describing their parents as superheroes, their stories lit up the screen.

What’s Next?

The journey continues! We’ll be at Wales’ National Armed Forces Day at Caldicot Castle on 28th June, where our young stars are invited to come and say hello at the SSCE Cymru stand.

Keep your eyes peeled for photos from the premiere and updates on future screenings.
