‘STAND UP, SPEAK OUT’- Bigfoot tackles misogyny in KS2/KS3

Confronting discriminatory and controlling language and behaviour...

We’ve always been responsive to school’s needs. This has often meant taking on subjects and tackling topics that, no matter how difficult, we know are best explored through the creative arts. And we know that finding the right time to have tricky conversations with young people can be hard. But that’s our expertise . So we’ve been delighted to create a really powerful workshop that helps Primary UKS2 pupils, and Secondary KS3 pupils, explore how to identify and prevent discriminatory and controlling language and behaviour...

During the workshop pupils will participate in a range of carefully curated creative activities which will support them to confidently recognise harmful or controlling behaviour and call out sexism and inequality within their peer groups. Pupils will consider a range of scenarios to introduce the principles of the active bystander approach and activities will consolidate their understanding of key terminology and how to seek further help and advice.
