However you’re looking to celebrate ‘The National Year of Reading’, we’ve got you covered. With a mix of fun workshops and creative experiences to coincide with key celebration dates, we’ve ensured that there is something on offer every month throughout 2026* to help Primary Schools start a conversation about Reading for Pleasure. If you’re into it, read into it… GO ALL IN!
*Please note that the majority of programmes listed- including our ‘Go All In’ workshops- can be booked at any time throughout the year; contact us to find out more!
JANUARY: Kickstarting the year with a brand new workshop, Bigfoot invites your pupils to ’Go All In’ with this imaginative, story-fuelled session for the whole school to enjoy! Meet Professor Paige Turner, a wildly enthusiastic, slightly chaotic inventor whose greatest creation — The Read-O-Tron 3000 — holds every book ever written. But disaster strikes…the machine has jammed! It relies on people reading to fuel its movement. Without it the world loses communication, wellbeing and empathy – so Professor Turner needs pupils’ help to restore order. By participating in hour one workshops pupils will explore their favourite genres, acknowledge the benefits that books provide, discover the joy of reading through role-play and invention, and understand that all reading counts.
