Animation
Our Animation workshops are hugely popular, and they cover so many skills. Animation is a fantastic tool for reinforcing curriculum topics or bringing to life stories and poetry. Working in small groups, pupils will have the opportunity to create models with plasticine or Lego or choose to animate any other objects from their favourite toys to their school bags and lunchboxes. The class will be introduced to the simple process of animation using stop motion studio, before they build their little studios, with backdrop and models, and let their imaginations run free, as they develop Storytelling, ICT, Art, Music and Oracy skills. We normally work with one class per day, working with approximately 30 children per workshop.
Filmmaking
Schools can book an experienced and professional filmmaker to turn groups of children into young filmmakers as they work collaboratively as part of a ‘ production team’ to learn the many skills of filmmaking. The children will also learn how to use Green Screen special effects in order to provide pupils and staff the opportunity to learn how to use these skills to enhance their digital productions.
Year 6 Leavers Film
During the Summer term, we are offering Year 6 pupils the opportunity to create a film based on their memories of primary school. The film would be perfect for a leaver’s assembly and make a wonderful gift for pupils to take away with them at the end of term. The cost includes a day of filming as well as a final edited film. A link to the film will be provided to the school, which can then be securely shared with parents and guardians.

ARTS COUNCIL OF WALES ‘HAVE A GO’ FUNDING IS AVAILABLE TO SCHOOLS
Several schools have secured Arts Council of Wales funding to pay for these workshops. You can apply for up to £1,500. Therefore, you could potentially book a range of DCF programmes; to work with different classes so more children can experience these fantastic workshops. The funding is called ‘Have a go’.
