Bigfoot NORTH Spring Term 2024 Round Up!

We’ve had a fabulous start to 2024, filled with varied programmes and partnerships galore!

Our wonderful facilitators travelled around the North East, North West and Yorkshire celebrating Safer Internet Day 2024, and receiving some outstanding feedback about the workshops:

Really useful, informative, fun and engaging for all! Interactive and enjoyable with great practical activities.” – Emmaus Primary, Liverpool

A great way to teach the importance of key concepts around online safety. Children felt at ease talking with Sean he was friendly and approachable.” – Diamond Hall Junior School, Sunderland

This term we proudly partnered with The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, which saw us delivering Macbeth workshops across 6 schools in the North East. Seaton Sluice Middle School created a flashmob piece which will be performed at Alnwick Castle on 18th March to launch Shakespeare Week!

We also partnered with Darlington Libraries to deliver our Madam Dragon workshops as well as Tell Me A Story I’ll Never Forget to celebrate their BOOKFEST 2024 celebrations!

World Book Day was also a ‘roaring’ success, with Madam Dragon and Wolf on Trial being our most popular bookings this time around. On the big day, our facilitators across the North engaged just over 550 children from early years to KS2.

In amongst this busy term was also National Careers Week. We visited the lovely Castle School in Ashington for students with SEND and delivered bespoke workshops which gave an insight into careers in theatre. The teachers feedback:

“We met the lovely Steph, who talked to us about the various different roles within working in the Theatre. We learnt about lighting, stage managers, actors, ushers, ticket officers and directors. The students were all so engaged and learnt so much! Thank you!”
