We have had another incredible year delivering our Anti Racism workshops across the country, and even in Germany! This important programme, developed and designed with our Senior Educator Adrian Benn, was first launched in Autumn 2024 and since then we have been so proud to have since visited an incredible 89 schools and organisations.
During the 60 minute KS2 workshop pupils explore their views and understanding of race and racism, recognising what it means to be anti racist, considering how to respond to racist bullying and behaviour and discussing how to have difficult conversations with their peers and adults. The workshop consistently receives ‘outstanding’ feedback from pupils and staff. Schools have told us how important this programme is, and how pupils benefit from safe, honest spaces where they can ask questions, sit with discomfort and feel empowered to make a difference.
In Summer term 2025, we were delighted to offer a workshop option for Secondary Schools and a much requested INSET session for staff. We have been thrilled that schools have told us how beneficial these opportunities have been for their whole school communities, with staff feeling more confident continuing the conversation, pupils taking learning home, and some pupils even being inspired to lead further anti-racism work within their school community.
In addition to our in school workshop programmes, this year we have also extended the programme to offering training opportunities for other organisations and educators who work with children and young people. We recently delivered a training session for the charity Get Further, and over the last few terms we have hosted 5 online training sessions, with more dates set for the Autumn term.
We are so passionate about the potential and importance of this work with pupils, teachers and educators, and we can’t wait to continue and extend the programme next year!
