SOUTH COAST SPRING TERM ROUND UP

We had a wonderful time running our Little Yetis (KS1) Holiday Club in Shoreham this Christmas. With places funded by West Sussex County Council we provided 10 children with drama and film activities and a hot lunch as well as healthy snacks.

Here is a trailer round up of what they created: https://youtu.be/Fx0zUqxF1WM

We have been successful in securing funding to continue Little Yetis and start Stage Stompers (KS2) at Buckingham Park Primary School in Shoreham throughout 2023. We will run loads of fun drama games, arts and crafts, dance, singing and more. Every day the club will have a special visitor to run a bespoke drama skills workshop in a variety of skills eg puppetry, stage combat, improv and comedy.

World Book Day 2023

Front Lawn Primary School in Havant and St Thomas A Becket Catholic School in Eastbourne had a visit from Willy Wonka and the Head Witch as part of our Roald Dahl character carousel programme for World Book Day. They also ran a special World Book Day storytime event at the Mini Playhouse in Hastings for local families – here is an audience member getting involved as Sir Scallywag off on an adventure!

Toy Quest

We are delighted to announce that Arts Council England have awarded us funding to work with Brighton & Hove Libraries this Summer term! Brighton and Hove Libraries have commissioned a brand-new show Toy Quest which will form part of their relaunch of their Toy Library which unfortunately closed during Covid. Toy Quest is a treasure hunt style theatre experience taking families on a journey through libraries to solve clues and rescue the toys! Toy Quest opens on 4th April at Whitehawk Library and tours to Coldean, Patcham, Hove, Portslade, Moulsecoomb, Hangleton, Rottingdean and Jubilee Libraries. Follow us on Facebook to be the first to be notified when our booking details go live! https://www.facebook.com/bigfootsouth

Arts Council England have also funded us to run 6 play sessions at Whitehawk Library led by Abi Horn Early Years play specialist and atelierista. The play sessions start on Tuesday 18th April 10am-12pm for six weeks and will offer fun, inclusive play set ups for children aged 2-5 and their families. Abi is designing and building a play library so that children can create their own cards, stamp books and play at being librarians!
