Around the World with Boone

A celebration of difference, friendship, and diversity

Boone the Banana wakes up on the supermarket floor, far away from his family bunch. Lost and worried, he hops past frozen peas, toilet rolls, and cheese until he finds himself face to face with a pile of oranges. At first, Boone isn’t sure, his family always told him that bananas should never mix with other fruits. But when the oranges burst into song and share their story of travelling from India, Boone begins to see things differently.

From there, Boone’s adventure unfolds into a colourful fruit salad of discovery. He meets pineapples from Brazil, lemons from Spain, kiwis from New Zealand, apples from America, and more. Each fruit sings and dances, proudly sharing where they come from and how they grow. Boone learns that while every fruit is different in shape, colour, and flavour, they also share things in common, like a love of sunshine and a gift for storytelling.

Through drama, movement, song, and laughter, children join Boone on his journey and experience first-hand the joy of celebrating differences and discovering similarities. By the end, Boone realises that diversity isn’t something to fear, it’s something that makes life sweeter. His family of bananas soon follow his lead, polishing up their skins and joining a beautiful birthday basket filled with fruits from all over the world. Together, they spend their days sharing stories, and their nights having fruit salad parties!

“We are all a little bit different and a little bit the same.”
That’s Boone’s lesson, and it’s one that helps children embrace diversity with joy, curiosity, and confidence.

Each session is 45 minutes long for a class of 30 children. We can provide up to 5 sessions across a day.
