Our literacy round up!

We’ve had a wonderful term celebrating World Book Day AND Shakespeare Week… Read our round up below!

“The children were engaged throughout the workshop. Feedback from children “this was the best workshop they have ever seen”. Fantastic, engaging, funny, entertaining! The children and teachers LOVED it.” (Rosh Pinah Primary School)

“Bigfoot workshops are fun, engaging, and highly interactive, inspiring students to be creative, confident, and work together. A fantastic way for schools to celebrate World Book Day while bringing learning to life! ” (St Judes C of E Primary School)

We enjoyed a spectacular World Book Day visiting schools up and down country with our incredibly talented team of educators and performers!

Hundreds of children and their teachers visited not one but two court rooms with appearances from Goldilocks (Goldilocks on Trial) and the Big Bad Wolf (Wolf on Trial), listening to the evidence and deciding whether they were guilty or not of their alleged crimes!

Our amazing storytellers have been delighting in children from Nursery to Year 6 Africa; Reborn celebrating the power of story, rhythm, and community, and our specially designed EYFS storytelling programme has been bringing the classrooms to life with our wonderful collection of Story Tree Stories.

Bigfoot are proud supporters of the National Year of Reading campaign, and to kick start our year of brilliant literacy programmes, this World Book Day we invited pupils to Go All In with our imaginative, story fuelled workshop for the whole school to enjoy together! Pupils participated in a range of creative activities supporting them to celebrate the joy of reading through role play and invention, reinforcing that all reading counts!

In celebration of Shakespeare Week, we were thrilled to launch our brand new Shakespeare Big Experience for KS2 and KS3 pupils; Rapspeare Live! Pupils are taken on a fun literary adventure into the world of Shakespeare and some of his most famous plays, using contemporary hip hop beats as an accessible way to understand the language. We have been blown away by the pupil’s response to this programme so far, and we are so excited to bring this brilliant learning opportunity to more schools next term.

As ever, we are so grateful to schools for giving us their feedback on our programmes, helping us to ensure that they are as enjoyable and impactful as possible. Read some of our Creative Literacy feedback HERE
